I went to the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta last week to see the Weeki Wachee Mermaids while they were in town. It was a good enough show, but it's definitely far better to see the mermaids in their native spring habitat down in Florida. I think I still prefer the aquarium in Tampa over Atlanta, possibly just due to the crowd difference, not sure.

One thing that irked me was that at Weeki Wachee, even before it was a state park, you could chat with a mermaid and take pictures with your own camera without being charged- at the GA Aquarium you couldn't take a picture near the mermaid they had out for people to visit with, not even of the sign stating they were in town - you had to pay for a picture. After paying $25 admission and $10 parking, I wasn't feeling all that charitable towards the Aquarium.

Anyways, some pics, not so great, but it was a decent time.
